The Seiko Astron SSJ039J1 is a solar-powered timepiece created under the design theme of Solidity, symbolising Seiko’s innovative spirit that has defined the brand since 1881. Inspired by Earth within a wider series drawing influence from the solar system, this striking model is a limited edition of just 1,500 pieces worldwide, with very few available in the UK, making it a highly desirable addition to the Astron collection.

Crafted in a super-hard 41.22mm titanium case and protected by sapphire crystal glass, the watch features a distinctive dark turquoise blue ‘spiral galaxy’ dial. This intricate curved pattern, finished with a subtle glittered effect to depict bright stars, is particularly difficult to achieve on a solar cell while maintaining efficient charging. Set within an all-black case and ceramic bezel, the contemporary design is defined by sleek lines, a slim profile and a compact, angular silhouette that flows seamlessly from the case through the lugs to the bracelet, complete with mirror-effect centre links and a micro-adjustable clasp for a personalised fit.

Powered by the in-house built 3X62 solar movement with GPS functionality, the SSJ039J1 delivers exceptional accuracy by updating the time remotely via GPS satellites as you move between time zones. It can be charged by any light source, whether natural sunlight or artificial light, ensuring everyday convenience. As part of the Seiko Astron range — the world’s first GPS solar watch — it is powered by light and automatically adjusts to your exact time through the latest satellite technology.
