The Seiko Astron SSH177J1 is born from Seiko’s passion for innovation and developed under the design theme of Solidity, representing the next step in advanced watchmaking. This solar-powered Astron model combines cutting-edge technology with a refined, contemporary aesthetic designed for the future.
Lightweight yet striking, the watch is crafted from super-hard coated titanium for both the case and bracelet, and is protected by dual curved sapphire crystal glass. The silvery grey dial features a vertical subdial layout with a horizontal line pattern, giving the watch a modern, technical appearance. Its sleek lines, slim profile and compact, angular design create an almost seamless flow from the case through the lugs to the bracelet.
Designed with a low centre of gravity for enhanced comfort on the wrist, the five-piece titanium bracelet offers lightweight wear and includes a micro-adjustable clasp for a personalised fit. The caseback is finished with a three-dimensional globe symbol, highlighting its GPS capability. Powered by the in-house 5X83 solar movement, the SSH177J1 features a 1/20th of a second chronograph, with dedicated subdials for chronograph timing, mode selection and a dual-time display. As part of the Seiko Astron collection — the world’s first GPS solar watch — it is powered by light and automatically adjusts to the exact time using advanced satellite technology.
