The SLA077J1 reinterprets a landmark moment in Seiko’s diving history, drawing inspiration from the world’s first hi-beat Diver’s watch launched in 1968. Carrying the prestigious Marinemaster name, this modern design reflects Seiko’s heritage in professional dive watchmaking while retaining the same impressive 300m water resistance as the original.

Beneath a dual-curved sapphire crystal glass, the crisp white dial features a subtle sand-like texture designed to deliver high contrast under water. Every detail is optimised for diving performance, from the streamlined case and comfortable 4 o’clock crown position to the powerful Lumibrite for visibility in the darkest depths. A unidirectional rotating bezel completes the design in line with ISO Diving standards.

At its heart, the SLA077J1 is powered by the in-house 8L35 calibre, created specifically for professional divers. Crafted at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Japan’s Iwate prefecture, this robust and reliable movement offers an accuracy of +15/-10 seconds per day and a 50-hour power reserve. As part of the Prospex collection, it embodies professional specifications, durability and performance for serious sports and adventure use.
