The Seiko Astron SSH163J1 is a solar-powered timepiece created under the theme of Solidity, reflecting Seiko’s enduring spirit of innovation since the brand’s founding in 1881. Designed to represent the future of precision timekeeping, this Astron model blends advanced technology with a refined, contemporary aesthetic.

Protected by a sapphire crystal glass, the grey dial features a vertical hairline finish and sits within a compact, slim bezel design. The enhanced charging capacity of this calibre allows for a richly textured dial while maintaining high charging efficiency. Crafted from titanium with a super-hard coating for improved scratch resistance, the case has a compact, angular form that flows seamlessly from bezel through the lugs to the bracelet, creating a sleek profile and comfortable fit on the wrist.

Powered by the in-house 5X83 solar GPS calibre, the SSH163J1 builds on the functionality of the 5X53 while adding a chronograph capable of measuring elapsed time up to 1/20th of a second. It delivers accuracy of ±15 seconds per month and offers a power reserve of up to six months on a full charge. As part of the Seiko Astron collection — the world’s first GPS solar watch — it is powered by light and automatically adjusts to the exact time using advanced satellite technology.
