The Seiko Astron SSJ037J1 is a solar-powered timepiece created under the theme of Solidity, symbolising Seiko’s innovative spirit since the brand’s beginnings in 1881. Part of a series inspired by the solar system, this limited edition model draws its influence from Earth and is restricted to just 1,500 pieces worldwide, making it a distinctive addition to the Astron collection.
Housed in a super-hard coated titanium case and protected by sapphire crystal glass, this futuristic design features a unique two-piece bezel crafted from aluminium and super-hard coated titanium. The silver-coloured striped dial is particularly complex to produce on a solar cell without compromising charging efficiency, showcasing Seiko’s technical expertise. With sleek lines, a slim profile and a compact, angular design, the case flows seamlessly through the lugs to the bracelet, while a micro-adjustable clasp allows for a more personalised fit.
Powered by the in-house 3X62 solar GPS movement, the SSJ037J1 delivers exceptional accuracy by automatically updating the time via GPS satellite when travelling between time zones. It can be charged by any light source, whether natural or artificial, for everyday convenience. As part of the Seiko Astron collection — the world’s first GPS solar watch — it is powered by light and automatically adjusts to the exact time using advanced satellite technology.
