The Seiko Prospex SPB317J1 is a modern interpretation of the original 1968 Turtle, featuring the distinctive case shape affectionately nicknamed ‘Turtle’ by Seiko fans. Its silhouette, side view and case back resemble the curved, comfortable shell of a turtle, while sea turtles are regarded by divers as symbols of good fortune. This distinctive design combines Seiko’s dive watch heritage with a practical and durable character.

The SPB317J1 features a reinforced silicone strap with a rail pattern inspired by the design of the original Turtle, adding an authentic detail to this modern interpretation. The strategically positioned date window provides excellent legibility while avoiding interference with the indexes, creating a clear and functional dial layout designed with practicality in mind.

Prospex combines the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications’, reflecting Seiko’s commitment to creating timepieces that are practical, reliable and durable for extreme environments. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative watchmaking has helped change global dive watch standards.
