The Seiko Prospex SPB507J1 comes from the iconic Alpinist collection, first launched in 1959 for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men who required dependable timepieces in treacherous terrain. Rooted in this adventurous heritage, the watch embodies the robust reliability and functional design that have defined the Alpinist line for decades.

Beneath a sapphire crystal glass, the archive-inspired pine green dial delivers a classic and highly legible aesthetic. ‘Cathedral style’ hour and minute hands are paired with Arabic numerals and wedge-shaped indices, while the traditional Alpinist logo sits proudly beneath the Seiko logo, echoing the very first 1950s Laurel Alpinist. A super-hard coating enhances the case with increased scratch resistance and a refined shine, and the ‘Mountain Device’ logo on the case back reinforces the watch’s field-ready character.

Visible through the exhibition case back, the in-house 6R55 automatic calibre offers dependable performance with an accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. With an impressive 72-hour power reserve, the SPB507J1 delivers lasting reliability, making it a versatile Prospex timepiece designed to meet the demanding standards of sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
