The SRQ053J1 mechanical chronograph draws direct inspiration from Seiko’s renowned 1970s motorsports-era chronographs. Influenced by the iconic ‘Seiko reserved Panda’ (6138) from 1972, the design reflects the character of a chic and elegant sports car, blending classic racing heritage with modern Prospex craftsmanship.

Beneath a dual-curved sapphire crystal glass sits a glossy black dial, contrasted by three crisp white sub-dials and a discreet date window positioned at 4.5 o’clock. The flowing case design is complemented by an intricate multi-row bracelet, both treated with a super-hard coating to enhance scratch resistance and long-term durability.

At the heart of the SRQ053J1 is the in-house 8R48 mechanical chronograph calibre, engineered to deliver precise elapsed-time measurement through a vertical clutch and column wheel system. Designed to be both practical and comfortable on the wrist, the case measures 42mm in diameter with a wearable 49.5mm lug-to-lug length. True to the Prospex name, this timepiece meets the demanding standards required for reliability and performance in challenging environments.
